Vintage stores, street art and more edgy bars than you can shake a craft cocktail at. It’s no wonder hip musicians, artists and creative types have flocked to Silver Lake and Los Feliz, making these Eastside neighborhoods LA’s byword for cool.
Los Feliz is a more relaxed, less self-conscious enclave bordering Griffith Park. There’s more of a family scene here, and most of the action is on Hillhurst Avenue. But head south and you’re in Silver Lake, Los Feliz’s edgy little sister, a glorious mishmash of glamorous hilltop villas, Mexican heritage and tattooed hipsters.
Along Sunset you’ll find cool cafés, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and record stores stretching into Echo Park, plus jogging trails and steep staircases to get your heart rate racing. Or just have an espresso in Intelligentsia Coffee instead.
