Downtown Brooklyn, as its name suggests, is the commercial and financial hub of the entire borough of Brooklyn. The Fulton Mall is home to over 150 retailers and the center of Downtown Brooklyn’s business district. Office workers on their breaks and students out of school for the day congregate here to shop at the many chain stores and discount shops that line the streets. On Fulton Street, this historic restaurant is fully fitted with antique light fixtures and a big back room storage area.
During the day, Fulton Street is lively with throngs of people filling the streets of the pedestrian walkway as shopkeepers sell their wares to passersby. The nearby MetroTech Commons is a popular meeting point that is sometimes host to live entertainment, art exhibitions, and special events. The revitalized Albee Square Mall is a major draw – the newly opened Dekalb Market Hall has 40 food vendors representing the ethnic and cultural diversity of Brooklyn. Nights are generally quiet in Downtown Brooklyn. Fulton Street is close to major transit stations including Borough Hall and Jay St-Metrotech stations.
You’re next door to a fashion outlet store and across the street from clothing and mobile phone stores. A little further down the road are popular chain stores Banana Republic, Gap, H&M, and Nordstrom Rack.
It’s a gorgeous, antique space and, as such, the condition is weathered. Fulton Street is mostly known for its shopping, so be prepared for quiet times when all the stores close for the day.
